Meet the maker
I am Kelly and I am the maker, designer and all around everything behind from my hook.
My journey to crochet hasn’t been a straight line. With a background in law and politics, life took an unexpected turn when mobility challenges left me housebound. Crochet became both a lifeline and a passion — a way to cope with long-term pain while finding purpose and joy in creating.
Handmaking gifts has become my way of showing love and care, when I can’t always be physically present. That deep appreciation for slow, intentional giving now runs through everything I design.
Growing with the Craft
Alongside designing patterns for makers, I’m committed to supporting fellow designers. Over the past few years, I’ve invested in my professional development by completing:
- Pattern Writing Course with Edie Eckman
- Certified Tech Editor Program with Carol Ibbetson (Cool Wool School)
- Next Level Amigurumi Design with Hooked by Kati
I’m also an active member of the Crochet Business Academy and the Cool Wool Community, where I continue to learn, grow, and share insights with other industry professionals.
In the months ahead, I’ll be expanding From My Hook to offer tech editing and pattern writing services, bringing the same values of thoughtfulness, clarity, and craftsmanship that guide my designs to help other crochet designers shine.
